Special Considerations
One-time event exemptions
Covered programs that are discrete, occasional events for which a large number of volunteers are essential, may be able to adopt alternative methods of fulfilling the policy requirements. This one-time exemption from certain requirements of the policy can only be done with approval of the Office of Equal Opportunity. Examples of these types of programs include: Engineering Day, Science Olympiad, Science Fair.
For details on how to receive approval for a one-time, discrete event exemption and the details on the alternative methods of fulfilling the policy requirements please contact YPPS.
CEL Courses
University courses with a Community Engaged Learning component that interact with minors are covered under the Minors Policy as a youth program. While the policy requirements are the same, there are differences in the method of fulfilling the requirements.
- For details on CEL course working minors see the CEL Course Policy Brochure (PDF).
